Hi everyone! I’ve been a bit lax on the blogging front recently due to the bank holiday weekend just completely sapping my motivation – I had to attend an accountancy course on Saturday and Sunday  and then my motivation just went out the window on Monday and in the evenings!

So I thought I would do a quick post to get me back into the swing of things – 5 things I can’t live without!

Here goes…

  1. MUSIC

I listen to music every single day and I have done since I was at school! Whether it’s the radio or my iPod or my old walkman crammed into my school blazer pocket that was way too small for it I have listened to music every day! My first cassette tape (lol cassette tapes, showing my age here) was Avril Lavigne’s ‘Skater Boy’ and I think my first CD was either Busted’s first album or Ashley Simpson’s ‘Pieces of Me’ single 😂 haha! Nowadays I listen to a lot of pop punk and indie rock, with a lot of other genres mixed in too. Music just sets me up for the day so I always listen to it while I get ready for work and at early morning gym sessions!


I think this goes without saying in this day and age but I definitely couldn’t live without my phone! I remember the days of having to ring up your friends on their home landline and having to arrange a meet-up instead of being able to text… and then my mum would tell me to get off the phone because she wanted to use the dial-up internet that you had to plug into the phone cable 😂😂 ! It’s so convenient to have all the apps and messaging facilities that you could ever need in one place! If you’re a blogger reading this you’ll know that our phones are never out of our hands and we use them for pretty much everything from scheduling posts to editing photos to monitoring followers and blog statistics. Phones are essential nowadays and I can’t wait to see what else they do with them next!

3. TEA

I honestly get through about 10 cups of tea a day at work, no word of a lie! Tea keeps me sane and keeps me productive! I take it with unsweetened soy milk and I definitely recommend trying an alternative to cow’s milk with your tea or coffee if you want to start going cruelty-free! Coffee I’m not such a fan of, I find it so bitter that I have to dump a load of sugar into it which probably isn’t too healthy for me!

4. ART

I try to create artwork as often as possible because I find it so therapeutic and rewarding. I just zone out completely when I’m working on a piece until it’s finished and it’s so nice to allocate that bit of time to myself and create something that I’m proud of. My boyfriend and best friends are so supportive of me and everything I create, be it blog content or art, and I am so grateful to them. They give me praise tempered with constructive criticism and keep me grounded while encouraging me to do more and be the best I can be. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my short time being a blogger, it’s stay humble. Everyone started from somewhere and it’s so nice to interact with other bloggers who create quality content and provide support and take the time to help smaller bloggers.
